Applications are being accepted for the Hindu Dharmacharya Certificate Examination 2026, which is set for November of that year, according to the Department of Examinations.
Exam Language: English, Tamil, and Sinhala (applicants may only take the test in one language)
Tamil is the exam medium.
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements in order to be eligible :
- passed the Araneri School’s (Dhamma School) final certificate exam.
- Have the Pandithar qualification.
- Have the Saiva Pulavar certification.
- passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in the subject of Hinduism or Hindu Civilization.
- obtained a credit pass in Saivaneri after passing the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects on no more than two tries.
